About Amazonite
Named after the Amazon River in Brazil — though no deposits have ever been found there — amazonite earns its name from the lush blue-green hues of the surrounding rainforest. Colors range from green to yellow-green to blue-green, sometimes with delicate white streaks that make each stone one of a kind. A fine-quality amazonite can even be mistaken for precious jade. As a relatively soft stone, it is best kept away from harder gemstones to avoid scratching.
